A powerful software tool designed for recording and analysing network-traffic at single Ethernet access nodes, optimized for measurements within VoIP and IPTV systems and is provided with a number of specific functions for the Triple Play sector as: list of connections, recording of quality-parameters etc.The additional functions provide a fast evaluation about the Quality (QoE) of the recorded IPTV programs and VoIP connections. For IPTV a number of specific functions is available as: program table, recording of quality-parameters etc.In the field WLAN statemants can be made about known Accesspoints and field strength values.
With the analysing tool TraceView IPTV it is possible to find IPTV data streams in a captured trace. Thereby DVB data streams which will transfer over the net via UDP or RTP, are considered. In a trace can be present several transport streams.The transport streams will be assigned, differently represented and evaluated.Further the contained audio and video streams can be extracted and played.Like that a subjective and objective quality evaluation of the transmissions is possible.
A highly efficient software tool, used to evaluate network traffic at a network node. This software is especially optimized for measurements inside VoIP systems. The software recognizes automatically RTP sessions and stores statistics for those. Quality parameter, like Packet loss and Jitter for each RTP session are listed. Furthermore a quality appraisement is permanently carried out accoring to ITU-T G.107 (E-Model) for each session and as a result R-Factor and MOS value are displayed.

Approaches

To be able to measure properly the end-to-end speech quality in convergent networks, it is necessary to capture all network segments in the measurement. Only in that way a continuous quality statement is possible of a connection of participant A to participant B. The Nextragen GmbH offers with the solution Trafficlyser PESQServer a possibility, at a reasonable price, to make PESQ measurements according to ITU T Rec. P.862.
